DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
The Drama Club Advisor is responsible for the creation, implementation, and supervision of various drama related activities that take place with students during established meetings. The purpose of this club is to offer a place students can enjoy and learn various types of drama related skills activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead students in engaging activities with the group specifically looking to incorporate drama skills and the performing arts
• Seek to implement one community event or community service opportunity during the school year making the connection from this club to the community (when possible)
• Club meetings would take place at least once monthly
• Select and give advance notification of all meeting dates to members and main office personnel at the beginning of the school year
• Maintain any financial records
• Maintain record of student attendance to all activities
• Enforce student activity handbook expectations
• Sustain an updated informational bulletin board promoting club projects, members, and upcoming activities
• Perform other related tasks/activities as assigned by the principal or designee
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Preference will be giving to those who:
• Have experience in working with high school aged students
• Have a background or related experiences in drama or theater either professionally or personally as pertains to this position
