Automotive Detailer

The Detailer is responsible for cleaning, reconditioning, and preparing vehicles for customers, sales, and service operations. This role ensures vehicles are presented in a clean and professional condition, following dealership standards. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform interior and exterior cleaning, including washing, vacuuming, polishing, and stain removal. 

• Complete vehicle reconditioning tasks as assigned. 

• Follow established detailing processes to ensure consistent results. 

• Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and report concerns or damage. 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detail bay and equipment. 

• Assist with dealership lot appearance as needed. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

• `Prior automotive detailing or reconditioning experience preferred. 

• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. 

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. 

• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. 

Required Skills 

• Knowledge of basic detailing tools, equipment, and cleaning products. 

• Ability to safely operate vehicles of all sizes. 

• Strong time-management and efficiency skills. 

• Ability to identify imperfections and ensure quality standards. 

• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area. 

Preferred Experience 

• Previous dealership, detail shop, or body shop experience. 

• Experience with buffers, polishers, extractors, or similar equipment. 

• Familiarity with interior and exterior cleaning processes. 

• Experience preparing vehicles for delivery or photography. 

Physical & Working Conditions 

• Frequent standing, bending, and physical movement. 

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. 

• Work performed in detail/wash bays with exposure to chemicals and varying temperatures. 

• Frequent operation and movement of vehicles.
