About Us
Our small town celebration dates back to 1977, when a group of locals created Wilton Fun Fest after holding the town’s large bicentennial celebration. It remained Wilton Fun Fest until the organization dissolved in 1992, and Wilton Wood Turtle Days was born.
Wilton Wood Turtle Days was one of the most successful festivals in the area, bringing in visitors from miles around. The organization did many good things for the community, and the members devoted themselves to bringing the best celebration, with the best camaraderie, to the area. Every year, in the first weekend of August, our tiny town would burst to life, and bring with it an amazing sense of community.
After 28 years of supporting Wilton in all of the best ways possible, the Wilton Wood Turtle Days organization has taken a step back from running the annual festival, and with that… Wilton Weenie Days was born.
The name stems from our local farming community, and our former “Wilton Weenie” stand that kept kids occupied after a swim at the local pool, and gave biker’s a quick respite from the bike trail as they were passing through our tiny town. Our hope for this new organization is to get back to our roots, bring back a sense of community and kindness, and once again, watch our tiny town come to life.
We’ve been told that the very best part of our village is the people in it. We can’t wait to celebrate Wilton, it’s history, and it’s future, with YOU!
