The Tomah Area School District has the following long-term substitute teaching vacancy beginning on or about April 1, 2025, through June 4, 2025:
 
            Long-Term Substitute Teacher:
            Special Education Cross-Categorical Teacher – Lemonweir Elementary
The Tomah Area School District is accepting applications for a long-term substitute special education teacher to serve 4K and 5K elementary special education students.  Experiences working with 4K-5K grade students and to assist with toileting and/or changing of diapers are preferred.  Candidates for this position must possess the skills and knowledge needed to provide the support services necessary for students with disabilities to achieve educational success.  Knowledge of special education programs, processes, and procedures is preferred, especially functional behavioral assessments.  Excellent communication skills are required; the ability to communicate effectively with students and their caregivers is essential.  Flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively with special education teachers, regular education teachers and colleagues are desired.  Ability to create and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom consistent with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.  Must have the ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds. 
 
This is a temporary position.  Co-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available.
 
Qualifications:  Must have, or must receive prior to the first day of work, appropriate licensure for the position as determined by state law and the District.  Please attach a copy of your license.
