Special/Alternative Education Teacher – Robert Kupper Learning Center
Tomah School District is seeking an innovative educator who can work collaboratively with colleagues, develop positive relationships with students and parents, and build partnerships with the community. This position requires a dynamic and progressive teacher who has experience working with secondary aged at-risk and special education youth. The preferred candidate will be able to work with core subject area teachers to help develop competency-based, interdisciplinary, curriculum with a focus on addressing at-risk behaviors. In addition, the preferred candidate will be able to maintain accurate student records, and monitor student progress as they independently work on GradPoint or other online classroom based instructional systems. This position is located at the Tomah Area School District’s alternative school – Robert Kupper Learning Center.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge of:
1) RtI and PBIS,
2) Professional Learning Communities,
3) Differentiated Instruction,
4) Mental Health in at-risk youth, and
5) Competency-based Education.
This is a full-time position beginning immediately. Co-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available.
Qualifications: Must have, or must receive prior to the first day of work, appropriate licensure for the position as determined by state law and the District.
