The Tomah Area School District has the following administrative vacancy beginning July 1, 2026:
 
Title:  WiMLSS Coordinator & Instructional Services
 
Position Summary:  
The Multi Level Systems of Supports (MLSS) Coordinator & Instructional Services is a dynamic district-level leader responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of key instructional programs. This role works in close collaboration with other district-level leaders to align all duties in support of strategic district initiatives. As a year-round position, the coordinator is central to advancing student achievement and professional excellence by overseeing a comprehensive 4K-12 MLSS in coordination with the SEL coordinator, school guidance counselors and other key staff. This role will also oversee the alternative education and summer school programming for the district with assistance from other district leaders, along with being the lead Title IX coordinator. The ideal candidate is a visionary educator with exceptional organizational skills and a passion for fostering growth in both students and staff.  

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • Deep knowledge of Multi-Level Systems of Supports (MLSS), including alignment with the WiMLSS framework and requirements of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, IDEA, ESSA, and Title IX regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and monitor district-wide systems using data-based decision-making to improve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills to guide collaborative teams, provide professional learning, and lead continuous improvement across 4K–12 settings.
  • Proven ability to oversee complex programs and operations.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage confidential matters and ensure equitable, student-centered practices.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

Multi-Level Systems of Support Coordinator
  • Leads the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the district’s Multi-Level Systems of Support framework in alignment with the WiMLSS framework.
  •  Ensures equitable academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes for all students through systems-level leadership, data-based decision-making, and collaborative professional learning
  • Facilitate building-level and district-level MLSS leadership teams and monitor team structure for grade level and department data meetings  
  • Establish district-wide data systems and decision rules aligned with WiMLSS
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop district-wide intervention menus aligned to evidence-based practices   
  • Develop communication systems to explain MLSS to families
  • Ensure district practices align with Wisconsin DPI expectations and federal requirements (IDEA, ESSA)
  • Oversee the design and facilitation of district-wide MLSS training sessions
Summer School Coordinator
  • Coordinate with other leaders to plan and develop the district's comprehensive K-12 summer school program, including credit recovery, enrichment, and intervention courses.  
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of summer school, including student registration, master scheduling, facility allocation, and resource management.  
  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of all summer school staff, providing orientation and ongoing support.  
  • Manage the summer school budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and proper allocation of funds.  
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding program details, schedules, and expectations.  
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback to guide future improvements.  
Alternative Education/At-Risk Coordinator 
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of alternative education programming designed to support students at risk of academic failure, disengagement, expulsion, or dropout
  • Ensure equitable access to high-quality, individualized learning pathways while maintaining alignment with district standards, state requirements, and graduation expectations
  • Work collaboratively with district and building leadership to create flexible, student-centered systems that prioritize academic progress, behavioral growth, credit attainment, and successful reintegration when appropriate
  • Act as building principal at RKLC Alternative Education site
  Title IX Coordinator
  • Oversee the district’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, ensuring that no student or employee is excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, or subjected to discrimination based on sex in any education program or activity receiving federal funding
  • Lead prevention, response, investigation oversight, training, and policy implementation related to sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, pregnancy discrimination, and gender identity discrimination  
Other Duties

Qualifications & Skills:  

Experience:  
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful K-12 classroom teaching experience.  
  • Previous experience in a teacher leadership, instructional coaching, or administrative role is preferred.  
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, professional development facilitation, and technology integration.  
Requirements: Must hold a valid WI Administrator License
