ELA Interventionist/Instructional Coach
The Tomah Area School District is seeking an exceptional educator to serve in a unique
dual-role position focused on accelerating student learning and strengthening
instructional practices across the district.
This position combines direct support for middle school students through Tier 3 literacy interventions with districtwide instructional coaching responsibilities designed to improve teaching and learning for all students.
We are looking for a highly collaborative, student-centered professional who is passionate about literacy, believes all students can achieve at high levels, and is committed to supporting educators through coaching, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Performance Responsibilities:
· Provide intensive Tier 3 literacy interventions for middle school students with
significant reading and writing needs
· Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data
· Collaborate with classroom teachers, intervention teams, and support staff to ensure
coordinated student support
· Coach teachers and teams in research-based literacy and instructional practices
· Support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) through the four critical PLC
questions
· Assist schools in strengthening Tier 1 instruction and closing achievement gaps
· Facilitate professional learning and support implementation of district initiatives
· Partner with building and district leadership teams to promote continuous improvement
and student success

· Experience analyzing and utilizing student data to improve outcomes

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge of:
· Literacy intervention and progress monitoring
· Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
· Wisconsin Multi-Level Systems of Support (WiMLSS)
· Instructional coaching practices
· Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Differentiated Instruction
· Data-informed decision making
· Assessment literacy
· Guiding Coalition leadership and school improvement processes
This is a full-time position beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
Qualifications:
· Must have, or be eligible for, a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction issued
license in any content area allowing you the ability to teach middle school age students
and a Reading (1316) license.
· Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience preferred.
· Background in instructional coaching, literacy instruction, PLCs, and leadership
development strongly preferred.
